Questions for University Students during final interview
What have you learnt during the entire process of this public engagement research (personal skills, research, interview, etc)?
Why did you decide to get involved in the project? What were the benifits for you?
What is your general perception regarding the likelihood of schools getting involved in Saturday morning music schools?
Through which environment, content and activities do you think students learn best?
What do you think the cultural differences are between compulsory and higher education and how can we help to assist the change that pupils have to undergo?
Can you also address the generic Beacons evaluation questions

Hi Paul,
We all met up to discuss the project on Wednesday as i’m sure you know.
With reguards to the instrumental lessons, I thought maybe it might be better to focus on using the time to inform the school pupils on what is involed at university. Discussing the performing, pastiche, instrumental and improvising lessons rather then getting involved with something practical, thinking about time restrictions. Also discussing entry requirements and what would be useful to know before getting to university. I think this could help with the step from compulsory to higher education.
Thanks Chris
I think the way it is going, it looks like each school will be different. Some of the schools may be large groups, some small, some 11 year olds, some 15 – 16 year olds. I think the practical aspects you mention make sense, but this may be more relevent to the older students. Let’s have a meeting the week after next to talk this through. I will set this up. Thanks for you comments.
Paul
